Make a Difference for Now and Forever.

Secure your legacy of caring with Methodist Hospital Foundation.

You want your dollars to make a difference. That’s why we dedicate 100 percent of your giving to programs and projects that assist our Methodist patients and strengthen health care in our communities – not one cent pays for administrative costs

Your reach extends to all aspects of the Methodist mission: the way we care, educate and innovate.

Care

You ensure quality care and screenings for more members of our communities. Almost 40% of metro area adults have reported difficulty or delay in obtaining health care services. Your support improves access and relieves financial burdens through Methodist Mobile 3D Mammography, Methodist Community Health Clinic and our charitable care program. That means you're part of the solution.

Educate

You help to train current and future health care workers through scholarships and other investments in education. We know the need is great: A registered nurse shortage of 1,572 full-time employees is projected in Nebraska by 2025.

Innovate

You keep Methodist on the leading edge, funding new ways to support current and future employees, the health system and those we serve. That includes new projects, programs and equipment.

Ways to Give

Appreciated Securities

You can support Methodist Hospital Foundation by gifting appreciated shares of individual stocks, mutual, exchange-traded, or closed-end funds.

Beneficiary Designations

Assets you pass on outside of your will are called non-probate assets. They include lRAs, 401(k)s, pensions, life insurance policies, and certain bank and brokerage accounts.

Designating us as a beneficiary of one or more of your non-probate assets is another way to establish your legacy with Methodist Hospital Foundation. FreeWill helps you to plan beneficiaries for your non-probate assets in one place.

Charitable Gift Annuities

When you set up a charitable gift annuity (CGA) to benefit Methodist Hospital Foundation, your gift is conservatively invested to ensure a fixed stream of income during your lifetime. The Foundation receives the remaining value after you're gone.

Charitable Lead Trusts

An irrevocable trust where the designated charity receives payments up-front rather than at the end of the income stream.

Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT)

An irrevocable trust that pays the donor a fixed amount (via an annuity trust) or a percentage of the value of the trust’s assets (via a unitrust) each year for a fixed term or for life. Remaining assets pass to designated charitable beneficiaries.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF) may be a way to simplify your giving to Methodist Hospital Foundation and other charitable organizations. Think of a DAF as a charitable investment account with the sole purpose of supporting your philanthropic goals.

Endowed Gifts

An endowed gift is money given by a donor that is to be invested in perpetuity. The Foundation uses the distributions (not the principal) to support programs you specify.

IRA Gifts

People who are age 70 ½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts

Methodist Hospital Foundation gratefully accepts gifts made in honor of loved ones or others you want to recognize.

Real Estate

If you have real estate you're thinking of selling, consider donating it instead. Beyond reducing your tax burden, it's an effective way to strengthen your philanthropic legacy.
