Support the Methodist Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program
"Your investment isn’t just funding a program; it’s restoring hope, dignity and healing in the lives of survivors across our community." - Carla Idrees, RN, BSN, FNE, Forensic Nursing Program Manager
Survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and abuse come to Methodist scared, overwhelmed and searching for safety.
Because of donors like you, they are met with something powerful: compassionate, trauma-informed care when it's needed most.
Now in its third decade, Methodist’s Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program is the longest-running and most comprehensive survivor response system in Nebraska. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Response (SANE/SART) team is trained to minimize trauma, support justice and help survivors reclaim their voice.
This program would not be possible without your support. Give today to ensure this specialized care is always available.
About the Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program
Heidi Wilke was attacked and raped following a business meeting in downtown Omaha. Acutely aware of the special needs of sexual assault survivors, Heidi and her husband, Jeff, have been instrumental in the development of the first SANE/SART program in the Omaha area. The Wilkes have worked closely with Methodist Hospital Foundation to spearhead fundraising efforts to endow the program permanently.
In 2023, Foundation donors transformed the survivor experience through the creation of the new SANE/SART suite in Methodist Hospital’s renovated Emergency Department. This dedicated, trauma-informed space offers survivors privacy, safety and comfort.
No one plans for a moment like this. But when it happens, the right care can make a lasting difference.
