Methodist Community Counseling Program Supports the Important Work You Do!

Methodist Community Counseling Program (MCCP) is a partner in providing the best possible care for our patients. Community support helps make it possible.

What sets MCCP apart is the way it meets people where they are. Licensed counselors are available on-site at Omaha Public high schools, middle schools and alternative programs, Metropolitan Community College campuses, and other community locations. MCCP’s reach just grew to include the new Health Center at Benson High School and Methodist Hospital—the result of a realignment in mental health services.

These services complement the physical care you and our entire Methodist team provide, making a stronger, more complete approach to patient recovery.

We recently saw how impactful this can be with a patient at the Methodist Cardiac Center. Struggling with heart disease, depression, and the stress of a divorce, this patient was having trouble sleeping, eating and feeling energized.

After weekly sessions with an MCCP counselor, they learned new coping strategies. Within a few months, they were sleeping better and gaining weight with a renewed sense of hope and gratitude.

Methodist Hospital Foundation and its donors plays a key role in supporting this important work with almost $3 million in annual funding — the Foundation's second-largest investment after scholarships.

Thanks to generous gifts, no client is turned away due to an inability to pay. This helps ensure that critical mental health services are available to everyone, especially those in our underserved communities.

The work being done through MCCP supports a goal we all share: healthier patients, families, and communities!
